What is long-term care?
- Chronic, "custodial" care for enduring/unchanging medical, physical and/or cognitive conditions. It is not acute or rehabilitative care.
- Assistance or supervision needed for ADLs.
- Can take place in the home, community-based settings, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes.
What is long-term care insurance?
- Insurance designed to financially protect individuals from the high cost of long-term care.
