Course Description and Overview
This course is designed to address the needs of Agents/ Brokers and Certified Financial Planners who are interested in expanding their knowledge of the NYS Partnership Program. This course was developed to meet the increasing demand of agents for ongoing Partnership training. This Course has been approved by both the New York State Department of Financial Services and The Certified Financial Board of Standards to offer three (3.0) continuing education credits after successfully completion of this course
This course will begin with a review of the benefits of the Partnership program, focusing on the advantages of Medicaid Extended Coverage, as well as on the tax incentives available for Tax Qualified Long-Term Care Insurance Policies. Then it will provide updates about changes in New York State Medicaid and in Federal and State legislation affecting the Long-Term Care industry. It will also discuss strategies for identifying the target audience and promoting the Partnership. By enhancing the agents' understanding of the benefits of the Partnership program, this class will enable them to better market the products.
Please Note: While anyone can take this course, only Agents/Brokers and Certified Financial Planners who have previously completed the Partnership Cerification requirements are eligible to earn three (3.0) continuing education credits for this course.
NYS licensees eligible for Continuing Education Credits are:
- BR (Brokers)
- LA (Life/Accident and Health Agents)
- C1 (Life Consultants)
Registration
There are two-steps to completing the registration process
Step I - Pre-registration:
- Go to the training schedule and select the training you wish to attend.
- You can call the Partnership Office at (518) 474-0662 to pre-register.
When you call, you will need to provide your:
- NYS Insurance license number
- Name (as it appears on your license)
- Daytime telephone number
- E-mail address
- Last 4 digits of your Social Security number (phone only)
Please Note: Due to possible unanticipated events, sessions may be cancelled. If this occurs, participants will be offered an alternate date.
Step II - Registration
- Download, print,and complete the Classroom Training Registration Form. This file is in Portable Document Format (PDF). Adobe Reader, which is available free of charge.
- Send completed registration form along with the $60.00 non-refundable fee as soon as possible to:

Registration form and payment must be received no less than two weeks prior to your pre-registered training date. Please make check or money order payable to "NYS Partnership Program/HRI." The $60.00 check or money order is non-refundable.
